DIGIEVER Releases New Firmware 74 Version

with Automatic Number Plate Recognition Solution

DIGIEVER is excited to announce that firmware 74 is officially released for Linux-embedded DIGIEVER NVR UHD series with a value-added solution – Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR/LPR). It is designed to connect seamlessly to any business system such as retail parks, supermarket, private car parks and office access control as well as the police force for law enforcement purpose.

By upgrading firmware and license purchase, users can easily build dedicated ANPR channel for real-time monitoring and storing the results on one hand, on the other hand, users can utilize NVR’s comprehensive functionalities and traffic management applications simultaneously.

DIGIEVER NVR offers up to 2 ANPR channels per NVR. By utilizing 2 ANPR channels, users are able to smoothly manage their environment by defining an entrance and an exit area. The ANPR function is now available on DIGIEVER NVR models: DS-2204 UHD, DS-4204 UHD, DS-4208 UHD, and DS-4212 UHD.

By utilizing DIGIEVER all-in-one NVR functionality, firmware 74 not only delivers our user with more third-party device compatibility but also allows our user to operate a more efficient function such as the time-divided search, ANPR monitoring, and audio selection on local monitoring. Automatic Number Plate Recognition Solution

DIGIEVER Automatic License Plate Recognition (ANPR) is also known as LPR, which is developed for inputting accurate number plates into DIGIEVER’s VMS system, allowing users to keep track of the traffic   within their responsible environment. The ANPR solution can be applied to any compatible IP camera without the need for the camera’s intelligent Video Analysis (IVA), which dramatically lower the cost of purchasing an ANPR camera.

The system offers a predefined detection are  a that can smartly identify car plate number and take immediate snapshots and video clips during video recording. With data search feature, users can search data from multiple cameras within specified date/time range at one time.  When the partial is unknown, users can simply input any related digit of car plate number for fuzzy search. The system will smartly list out the data that matched.  Each data will come with a snapshot and a video clip that allows users to directly view in data search interface.  Users are able to click on “export list” button to obtain complete list for the need of investigations.

Time-divided Search Enhancement

Time-divided search is an advanced search method that helps users to shorten searching time from the specified time range, furthermore, to quickly find out suspicious objects from split videos. 
In FW74, the feature allows users to divide recording videos into many shorter video clips by selecting day and time during playback. Users can retrieve up to 3 consecutive days to split the videos based on the display mode selected (2x2, 3x3, 3x4). After video is divided into shorter clips, users can directly playback and make comparison from all divided videos inside the time-divided search window. Once the suspicious object is found, users can take a snapshot of the frame or export the video to the computer for investigation purpose.

Audio Out Option on Local Display

Most DIGIEVER NVR series is equipped with 2 display outputs via HDMI connectors and it is able to receive on-site sound while real-time monitoring.  In FW74, DIGIEVER allows users to flexibly switch the audio output between screen 1 and screen 2 at any time.  It can be helpful when one of the monitors suddenly has no sounds, or when there is equipment waiting for a replacement. Meanwhile, it can also keep higher privacy for on-site environment if there is monitoring surveillance requirement only.

Value-added Functionalities and Compatibility
