How to set up Digital Input and Output in Rack Mount UHD Series?

DS-16x00-RM UHD / DS-8x00-RM UHD / DS-4x00-RM UHD series features GPIO functions (4in and 4out).

Please refer to below SOP to install and setup GPIO.

The definition of DI/DO is as below:

(1) Pin No. 14 and Pin No. 13 share the same function VCC

(2) Pin No. 12 and Pin No. 11 share the same function DI_GND

(3) Pin No. 10 = DI4

(4) Pin No. 9 = DI3

(5) Pin No. 8 = DI2

(6) Pin No. 7 = DI1

(7) Pin No. 6 and Pin No. 5 share the same function OCO

(8) Pin No. 4 = DO4

(9) Pin No. 3 = DO3

(10) Pin No. 2 = DO2

(11) Pin No. 1 = DO1

The GPIO type of RM UHD series is fully-isolated. It is necessary to connect an External DC Input (DC 12V~24V) to the GPIO. User can use a Power Adaptor as an External DC Input (DC 12V~24V).

How to set up External DC Input (DC 12V~24V)?

Note: Before connecting the electric wires to the Pins of NVR’s GPIO, please make sure each electric wire of External DC Input (DC 12V~24V) is Corresponding to the correct circuit function.

External DC Input (DC 12V~24V)
1. Connect VCC of External DC Input to Pin No. 14
2. Connect GND of External DC Input to Pin No. 12

How to set up DigitaI Input? (E.g. DI1)

Note: Before connecting the electric wires to the Pins of NVR’s GPIO, please make sure each electric wire of Digital Input Device is Corresponding to the correct circuit function.

Digital Input Device

1. Connect VCC of Digital Input Device to Pin No. 13

2. Connect GND of Digital Input Device to Pin No. 7

How to set up Digital Output? (DO1)

Note: Before connect the electric wires to the Pins of NVR’s GPIO, please make sure each electric wire of Digital Output Device is Corresponding to the correct circuit function.

[Step 1] Digital Output Device

1.1 Connect VCC of Digital Output Device to Pin No. 13

1.2 Connect GND of Digital Output Device to Pin No. 1

[Step 2] DI_GND & OCOM

2.1 Use a piece of electric wire to connect to Pin No. 11 & No. 6

Default Settings of NVR DI/O

The default initial voltage status of NVR DI/O is set to Low.  Once one of DIs becomes High, NVR will treat it as an event. Therefore, if the initial voltage status of user’s DI is high, NVR will immediately detect it as an event.  In Advanced Settings page, User can define the status as High/Low according to the initial voltage status of the DI/O Devices.  Then, click Apply to save the settings.

E.g.: Use DI1 to trigger "Event Triggered Recording"

User can use a Push Button as a Digital Input Device.

[Step 1] Set up External DC Input (DC 12V~24V) and Push Button (DI1)

[Step 2] Go to NVR Configuration page: Recording & Event > Event & Action Management

[Step 3] Click Digital Input_1 > Click Add > Click Event Triggered Recording > Select a camera
              > Click OK > Click Apply

[Step 4] Press the button to trigger Digital Input_1

[Step 5] The camera selected for Event Triggered Recording will start record

E.g.: Use Camere/NVR Event to trigger "DO1"

User can use a Buzzer as a Digital Output Device.

[Step 1] Set up External DC Input (DC 12V~24V) and Buzzer (DO1)

[Step 2] Go to NVR Configuration page: Recording & Event > Event & Action Management

[Step 3] Select a Camera/NVR event (e.g. Motion from camera) > Click Add > Click Digital Output
              > Enable Digital Output_1 and set Duration > Click OK > Click Apply

[Step 4] When the selected event is triggered, Buzzer will start to buzz.
