Has my DIGIEVER NVR been compromised by a cyberattack? What steps should I take?

 

How to determine if my DIGIEVER NVR has been compromised by a cyberattack?

Situation 1:
NVR and Cameras work properly, but Conn. Status shows Disconnected and Rec. Status shows Stopped.

 

Situation 2:
Unauthorized configuration changes: e.g. abnormal system time settings

 

Situation 3:
Log of abnormal login attempts in Log System > History of User Log

 

 

Solution:

DIGIEVER is committed to providing secure and reliable Linux-embedded video surveillance solutions, ensuring that data and devices are protected from cyber threats. Whenever potential security vulnerabilities are identified or reported, we take immediate action to address them and enhance device security. We encourage all customers to update their firmware promptly to FW78-9 or later version. Please follow below steps:

1. Go to DIGIEVER’s Download Center > Login your account > Download the firmware of your NVR
    or mail to support@digiever.com to get the firmware

2. Login NVR > Configuration Page
2.1 Go to System > Date & Time > Time Zone > Delete suspicious strings in External NTP Server
2.2 Click Apply

 

3. Upgrade NVR to FW78-9 or later version

4. Login NVR > System > Device Information > Make sure the Firmware Version is 78-9 or later version

 

 

5. Set up Time by Manual or NTP Server
    Go to System > Date & Time
    By Manual                                                         NTP Server
           

 

6. Change NVR’s password to enhance security
